This luxury eco-resort claims dibs on a new “World Wonder”
From TRD NYC: Urugua-í Provincial Park in northeastern Argentina has precisely four TripAdvisor reviews and, now, a new luxury hotel for tourists willing to pay top dollar to visit an undercover “World Wonder.”
The closest the park’s got to fame was a waterfall about two and a half hours away being featured in the movie “Black Panther,” as Bloomberg puts it. But the recently-opened Awasi Iguazú resort has set up a safari-style experience with all concerns taken care of–at least in theory–so guests can explore a relatively uncrowded natural park.
Each party of two is assigned a villa with a personal guide, a four-wheel-drive pickup truck and a private plunge pool to either facilitate journeys out into the park via trails to waterfalls or boat trips, or spend a lazy day in the room.
It’s the latest property for the hotel operator that has two other boutique hotels — all of which can be described as environmentally friendly six-star hotels, which are becoming the increasingly preferred getaways for the wealthy. [Bloomberg] — Erin Hudson
