Retail redevelopment in Boynton Beach set to start in January
Construction of a mixed-use redevelopment of Riverwalk Plaza in Boynton Beach is expected to start in January. The four-phase project includes construction of a 10-story apartment building in the final phase.
The developer, Isram Realty Group, won approval from the city to construct a 10-story apartment building with 326 units on the site of a former Winn-Dixie supermarket, which will be demolished along with a bakery called Bond and Smolders.
Riverwalk Plaza is located at the southeast corner of Woolbright
Road and Federal Highway. The first phase of its redevelopment will involve renovation of a retail building that houses a Walgreens pharmacy and a Jo-Ann Fabric store, which is expected to take as many as six months to finish. The second phase, construction of a new retail building, is expected to be completed by the end of 2018.
In the third phase of the Riverwalk Plaza project, parking areas will be reconfigured. The fourth phase, which will encompass construction of the apartment building and a parking garage, is expected to start late next year and take as long as 24 months to complete. [Palm Beach Post] — Mike Seemuth
